Sing to Me

© 2014 Drew Nicholson

sing to me of summer
sing to me of love
sing to me of sunlight
and the clouds above
sing to me of sweethearts
running through the fields
sing to me of summer,
love and life revealed.

sing to me of autumn
sing of changing leaves
sing to me of harvest
corn and wheat in sheaves
night lays fallow longer
daylight wanes
sing to me of autumn
soon we sleep again.

sing to me of winter,
sing to me of snow
sing to me of crisp air
an icy coat bestowed
sing to me of yule-tide
burning wood
sing to me of winter
not what is but what could.

sing to me of spring-time
sing to me of birth
sing of fresh renewal
and of greening earth
sing of all a-stirring
brand new day
sing to me of spring-time
sing of come what may.

sing to me of honor
sing to me of grace
sing to me of true hearts
and the eternal chase
sing to me of blessings
spirits strong
sing to me of honor
sing a whole new song.
